HawkSoft would like to address some confusion surrounding changes to how ACORD Forms will be licensed in 2020. This change is made by ACORD, but as your vendor of choice we still feel responsible for helping our partners understand how this change impacts them.
First and foremost: agencies using the HawkSoft agency management system will have the same access to ACORD Forms on January 1, 2020 as they have today.
What is ACORD changing?
ACORD is making changes to their licensing model for ACORD Forms. Starting January 1, 2020, agencies are required to have a direct licensing relationship with ACORD. In the past, Vendors (like HawkSoft) and Carriers had licensing or redistribution agreements with ACORD.
See the section ACORD Forms End User License Program at the bottom of this page for more details: https://www.acord.org/forms-pages/forms-participation-programs
If agencies have concerns about this change, we encourage them to contact ACORD directly: memberservices@acord.org.
What will change in HawkSoft agency management system?
The change made by ACORD will not affect workflows that exist in HawkSoft's agency management system. Agencies using HawkSoft will continue to have access to ACORD forms on January 1, 2020. HawkSoft has updated our Terms & Conditions to comply with ACORD's new requirements for vendors.
Do I need to notify HawkSoft of my ACORD license status?
No, you are not obligated to inform HawkSoft when you establish a license with ACORD.
